According to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, December wrapped up the year with a bright spot for the trucking industry, as marked by an uptick in transportation jobs and over 2,000 added trucking positions for the month.
This growth builds on November’s 600 job gains and October’s 6,000 new roles in this sector.
Throughout the year, we have seen a steady rise of nearly 63,000 additional jobs nationwide among freight carriers since this time last year – a boon that highlights industry stability amidst ongoing challenges caused by COVID-19.
For the year, transportation employment has increased by more than 207,000 jobs.
The trucking industry is continuing to grow and with this steady growth in jobs and an expanding economy, this may be the perfect time to consider joining one of America’s most enduringly successful industries!
