A tow truck driver unintentionally stopped a high-speed police chase in California

A tow truck driver in Southern California unintentially caught a suspected felon during a high speed chase with police.

Dashcam footage from police shows the driver exited a parklot and blocked the suspect who was leading police on a dangerous chase, according to Inside Edition. The car was traveling around 70 miles per hour.

A man driving a white sedan reportedly hit a California Highway Patrol vehicle in Boyle Heights and barely missed the officer. When police tried to stop the vehicle, he sped away. Apparently, he had felony warrants out for his arrest.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department followed the car for 40 minutes, reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour on side streets.

“It’s not like I wanted to stop him or anything like that,” the tow truck driver said. “I was trying to move out of the way.”

The anonymous truck driver said he was pulling over to the left when the fugitive hit him. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.

Officials thanked the tow truck driver and the driver of the white car was taken to jail. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
