West Virginia – A toll booth attendant at the southbound toll plaza in Chelyan was temporarily trapped and injured on the job Friday, July 29, 2022, when a semi-truck with an oversized load pushed over a toll booth while attempting to use the wrong lane. The toll booth attendant was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
Jeff Miller, executive director of the West Virginia Parkways Authority, stated, “The far right lane in any toll plaza is the oversized truck lane. This driver attempted to use the second lane, thinking their load would fit, and ended up hitting the toll booth in the far right lane.”
