ATRI launches survey on driver-facing cameras

The ATA recently launched a brief survey to get more trucker perspectives on how they feel about driver-facing cameras. In 2021, ATRI’s Research Advisory Committee designated driver-facing camera research as a top research priority. Previous FMCSA-sponsored ATRI research found that truck drivers have very positive attitudes toward road-facing cameras, but numerous driver concerns have been raised about driver-facing cameras.

The purpose of ATRI’s driver-facing camera survey is to better understand the specific issues and concerns that truck drivers have, as well as to determine what, if any, strategies might address those concerns. Another component of ATRI’s driver-facing camera research will examine how defense attorneys can use video feeds to reduce unfavorable litigation outcomes against truck drivers and motor carriers. You can find the survey here!
