ConMet’s Innovation Aims to Enhance Efficiency and Communication for Freight Mobility

On February 26, ConMet took the stage at The Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition to reveal their brand-new digital driver app. This groundbreaking application will provide fleet owners with real-time data on performance so routing can be improved for faster freight movement.

While providing background information on the app, the firm also indicated that the app would assist users to “determine when to take action during a route, and streamline communication between the driver and the service team to increase uptime and efficiency.”

Beto Dantas, ConMet chief technology and innovation officer said the app is meant to offer a “simplified view of the data needed to increase speed and accuracy of pre-trip inspections.”

“Since 1964, our innovation-first mindset has enabled us to solve the problems of the commercial vehicle industry,” said ConMet President John Waters in a separate statement. “Our deep industry roots and expertise — especially surrounding the wheel end — allow us to continually develop new ways of making vehicles lighter, safer and more efficient.”

ConMet Digital and Stephens Pneumatics announced a collaboration in January that would allow fleets the option to incorporate ConMet data solutions to new tank trailer orders from Stephens Pneumatics.

“Our goal at ConMet Digital is to help fleets make data-driven decisions that lead to improvements in utilization, uptime, safety and maintenance,” said ConMet General Manager Paul Washicko in a statement at the time.

ConMet, a part of the Amsted Industries family and global leader in heavy-duty vehicle components, has made great strides since its 2019 foray into digitization with ConMet Digital. This revolutionary endeavor is focused on creating groundbreaking innovations through internet-of-things technology to revolutionize trucking industry capabilities – from aluminum castings & wheel hubs to structural plastics.

According to the company: “Together with the unmatched commercial vehicle expertise and support of ConMet, ConMet Digital provides holistic, actionable insights into the tractor-trailer ecosystem to help fleets improve operations.”
