New TravelCenter of America opens in Carthage, Texas

A new TA Express location has opened in Carthage, Texas. The site, which was formerly Gateway Travel Plaza, is located on Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 59.

The site contains new amenities such as:

• Five diesel fueling positions with RFID and DEF on all lanes
• 16 Exxon gasoline fueling lanes
• 50 truck parking and 100 auto parking spaces
• 4 private showers
• Laundry facilities
• Travel store
• Dining options: Denny’s, on-site deli
• Gaming room
• Transflo scanning
• The new franchise is operated by Brian Hatchett.

The Gateway Group has converted three travel centers into TA Express locations in 2020. Their other locations include Kilgore, Texas and Nacogdoches, Texas. They also plan to open a TA travel center in Fairfield, Texas next year
