In an important leadership change for Daimler Coaches North America (DCNA), Robert “Bob” J. Miller is set to retire at the end of this year, concluding his 25-year tenure in the transportation sector.
Instrumental in DCNA’s foundation, Miller also played a key role in introducing the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider to the North American market.
During this transition phase, Miller will collaborate closely with Jason Brunninger, who will be stepping into the position of Vice President of Sales. A seasoned professional in the motorcoach industry, Brunninger brings over 20 years of experience to his new role.
Thomas Rohde, CEO and President of DCNA, expressed gratitude for Miller’s contributions, stating, “We are deeply thankful for Bob’s vital contribution in establishing Daimler Coaches in North America. Our entire team extends its best wishes for his well-deserved retirement. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Jason as our new Vice President of Sales. His extensive motorcoach experience and strong customer focus will help further expand our market presence and meet our ambitious growth targets.”
Previously, Brunninger held the position of General Manager at Mercedes-Benz Buses Southern Africa, where he successfully launched a new motorcoach platform. His leadership repertoire also includes roles as Head of Sales for Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Freightliner Trucks Southern Africa.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Brunninger commented, “I am thrilled to join the DCNA team and grow the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider brand in North America. We have an excellent product, great service network, and most importantly, people our customers can rely on.”
Brunninger is a graduate of the University of South Africa, holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, biking, and hiking, often spending his free time with family.
