The rideshare and delivery industries have become vital parts of the economy, offering flexibility and a steady income for millions of drivers. Yet, despite their central role, many drivers face challenges like low pay, increasing costs, and a lack of transparency. In response to these issues, the Rideshare Group Organization (RSG) is launching a new movement to ensure that drivers’ voices are heard and that fairer conditions are established.
What Is the Rideshare Group Organization (RSG)?
Founded in December 2024 by JR Morales, a former rideshare driver with over seven years of firsthand experience, the Rideshare Group Organization (RSG) is dedicated to advocating for fair wages, better working conditions, and more transparency within the rideshare and delivery sectors. RSG unites drivers from all across the United States who are seeking a more equitable system that values their contributions to the industry.
As Morales emphasizes, drivers are not asking for luxury, just fairness: “We are not asking for luxuries—just fairness. RSG exists to give drivers a unified voice and demand the respect and pay they have earned.”
RSG’s Core Advocacy Goals
At the heart of the RSG movement are four key goals designed to improve the lives of rideshare and delivery drivers:
- Fair Compensation
One of RSG’s top priorities is to ensure that all drivers are paid a livable wage that accounts for the true costs of driving, such as fuel, vehicle maintenance, and insurance. It’s about making sure drivers are compensated fairly for the work they do. - Transparent Incentives
Drivers often face uncertainty when it comes to bonuses and rewards for their hard work. RSG is calling for clear and transparent incentives that properly reflect a driver’s dedication and performance. - Profit Sharing
RSG is advocating for profit-sharing opportunities where drivers can share in the financial success of the platforms they support. This would give drivers a more direct stake in the companies they help build. - Ongoing Collaboration
RSG believes that open and ongoing communication between drivers and platforms is key to making meaningful change. By fostering this dialogue, the organization aims to address the real concerns of drivers and implement lasting improvements.
The Possibility of Driver-Owned Alternatives
While RSG hopes to work collaboratively with current platforms, it also signals that if the companies fail to meet these demands, driver-owned alternatives will be explored. This isn’t a threat but a genuine possibility fueled by drivers who are no longer willing to accept the status quo. As Morales states, “This is not a threat. It is a reality fueled by the voices of drivers who are no longer willing to accept the status quo. We want collaboration, not conflict, but we are prepared to take bold steps if necessary.”
