JFK Airport Changes Rideshare Pickup Zones for Terminals 4, 5, and 7

If you pick up passengers at JFK, there’s a new routine you’ll need to follow.

Starting May 13, all rideshare pickups for Terminal 4 are being moved to the Lot 66 Ride App & Car Services Pickup area. This change affects pickups between 12 p.m. and 2 a.m., according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Here’s what to expect: passengers won’t be waiting curbside. Instead, they’ll need to take a free shuttle from the Terminal 4 arrivals level. The shuttle heads directly to Lot 66, running every 1 to 2 minutes. Riders are told to wait until about five minutes from the lot before ordering their ride. A notification will be made on the shuttle when it’s about five minutes away, so stay alert and ready in your app when you know someone’s en route.

For drivers dropping passengers off at Terminal 4 — nothing changes there. Drop-offs will still happen at the usual terminal frontage.

This new pickup system at Terminal 4 is in place until further notice.

Rideshare drivers should also know that JFK has already moved pickups for Terminals 5 and 7. Anyone arriving at those terminals will need to go to a separate lot near the AirTrain JFK’s Howard Beach station to catch an Uber, Lyft, Revel, or any car service.

If you drive for a rideshare or black car service, these updates can impact your timing, earnings, and customer satisfaction. Keep your apps updated and be ready for more airport layout changes ahead.
