Chauffeur Service Takes a New Twist with ‘Go For A Ride’ Pet Transport

For most chauffeurs, passengers wear suits and dresses, but in Sioux Falls, a new kind of client is riding in style: dogs.

A recently launched business, “Go For A Ride,” is shaking up the idea of chauffeuring by providing safe, reliable transportation for pets. Instead of airport runs or corporate events, this service focuses on trips to the vet, the groomer, daycare, or even the dog park.

Co-owner LJ Delacruz explained the inspiration behind the unique service. “We’ve never heard of anyone doing something like this, so we said, why not us, why can’t we be the helping hand?”

Chauffeuring Pets with Professional Care

Unlike traditional pet taxis, “Go For A Ride” runs like a true chauffeur service for dogs. Appointments are booked in advance, pick-up and drop-off times are confirmed, and safety is treated as the top priority. The bus can hold up to eight dogs and comes equipped with air conditioning to keep pets comfortable.

“They’re usually up on the windows looking out, they’re excited, they love to be moving around just like they would be in a normal car,” LJ said.

Amanda Delacruz added that the couple invested significant time to ensure safety on board. “So they are all leashed in there really good. We did a little experimenting with ours, and we also did a lot of research, watching some of the other pup buses around the nation and some of those videos. We had some trial and error, just making sure they are tight enough in there and stayed on those seats.”

A Chauffeur’s Dream Ride—But for Dogs

For professional chauffeurs used to catering to demanding human passengers, the idea of driving a busload of excited dogs might sound unusual, but the philosophy is the same: customer care. The Delacruz family designed the business around comfort, dependability, and an enjoyable ride.

“The dream is to have a bus full of dogs, I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that,” LJ said.

Pricing starts at $20 for the first ride, $25 for each additional dog, and special trips—like a four-hour adventure to Palisades—are available for $30.

The Bigger Picture for Chauffeur Professionals

For drivers in the chauffeur industry, “Go For A Ride” highlights how flexible and creative chauffeuring can be. Whether transporting executives, wedding guests, or even four-legged passengers, the principles remain the same: reliability, professionalism, and safety on the road.
