Greyhound Team Members Recognized for Leadership and Safe Driving by Pennsylvania Bus Association

Greyhound employees earn top honors from the Pennsylvania Bus Association, recognizing leadership growth and a 27-year accident-free driving record.

Recognition across the motorcoach industry continues to highlight the people behind daily operations, from those managing routes to those handling miles behind the wheel. At a recent industry gathering in Pennsylvania, two Greyhound employees were honored for their contributions to leadership and long-term safety performance.

The awards were presented by the Pennsylvania Bus Association during its Annual Marketplace Networking Event held on March 30 in Williamsport.

From the Driver’s Seat to Regional Leadership

Amantuallah Lucas, an area driver manager based in New York City, received the Employee of Distinction Award. Her career path reflects a progression many in the industry recognize, starting behind the wheel and moving into operations leadership.

Lucas began as a driver with Greyhound before stepping into a management role overseeing operations across the Northeast. During her time in that position, the region has become the company’s top performer, with improvements tied to safety, operational consistency, and team performance.

“Amantuallah represents the very best of Greyhound’s culture of opportunity and accountability,” said Rodney Surber, the company’s chief operations officer. “Her journey from the driver’s seat to leading one of our highest-performing regions is a testament to her leadership and commitment to excellence.”

Long-Term Safety Behind the Wheel

The association also recognized Constance “Connie” Davidson, a driver operating in the Northeast, with the Driver of Distinction Award. Her recognition is tied to a 27-year accident-free driving record.

That milestone reflects the level of consistency required to maintain safety over decades in an environment where conditions, schedules, and passenger loads are constantly changing.

“Constance’s 27-year accident-free record reflects extraordinary discipline and professionalism,” Surber said. “Our drivers are the backbone of our operations, and recognitions like this reinforce the safety-first culture that defines Greyhound today.”

Why These Awards Matter

Programs like this one highlight both sides of the operation. Leadership that shapes performance behind the scenes, and drivers who deliver that performance day after day on the road.

The Pennsylvania Bus Association holds these awards twice each year, recognizing individuals who demonstrate strong service, professionalism, and long-term commitment across the motorcoach space. One set is presented during the Marketplace event in March, with another following at the Annual Conference in June.

A Closer Look at Industry Standards

Awards tied to safety and leadership continue to set a benchmark across fleets. Long accident-free records and internal advancement into leadership roles both point to the same thing: consistency over time.

For companies, it reinforces the value of developing talent from within. For those behind the wheel, it shows what sustained performance can lead to over the course of a career.
