Uber has relaunched its Senior Ride Program in parts of Philadelphia, providing eligible older adults with free ride vouchers while expanding access to transportation.

Uber has relaunched a program that provides free rides for eligible older adults in parts of West and Southwest Philadelphia, creating additional trip opportunities while helping seniors access transportation.

The initiative offers a one-time $50 Uber ride voucher to residents age 60 and older living in select Philadelphia ZIP codes. The program is operated through Uber’s Senior Ride Program in partnership with Philadelphia nonprofit ACHIEVEability.

Program Continues to Connect Seniors With Rides

According to PhillyVoice, Uber has allocated $10,000 for the latest round of the program. Eligible riders can use the one-time voucher until the available funding has been distributed.

For rideshare drivers, the program highlights another way Uber is working with local organizations to connect riders who may otherwise have limited transportation options.

Riders Can Request Trips with or Without the Uber App

Eligible seniors who use smartphones will receive promotional codes through the Uber app.

Older adults who do not use the app can still participate. ACHIEVEability will coordinate rides on their behalf, making the program accessible to residents who may be less comfortable using ride-hailing technology.

Program Returns After Last Year’s Launch

Uber introduced the Senior Ride Program last summer to support older adults in West Philadelphia following SEPTA service reductions. It later expanded into Northeast Philadelphia before returning this year.

State Representative Morgan Cephas, who helped establish the initiative, announced the program’s relaunch on July 9.

According to Uber representative Jazmin Kay, the program has provided more than 1,000 rides for more than 300 seniors since it launched last year.
